| In 1958, The Music Man beat West Side Story for the Best New Musical Tony. It looks like they will be in competition with each other again next spring for the Best Musical Revival Tony. What comes around... | |

| I'm reminded of that scene in THE APARTMENT, starring Jack Lemmon and Shirly Maclaine, when one of the executives wants to get Broadway tickets for out of town clients and, when asked what show he wanted tickets for, replied "MUSIC MAN, what else?" What else indeed? :) |

| All in fun since they aren’t competing and no one has seen them…but I’d guess The Music Man. Primarily because we don’t know how the experimental version of WSS will end up, but can make a strong assumption that Rudin will provide a high quality version of TMM. | |

| I would agree with this. Hugh Jackman as Harold Hill is a safe, obvious choice for me, and I'm not sure that this will be an inspired production, but I think it will have high quality components. I'm buying tickets as soon as the site is open. West Side Story could be great, or it could be a total mess. I'm not buying tickets for that one until we get some word of mouth. |

| I know TMM is a well-crafted musical piece of Americana -- and perfect for summer theaters -- but the way things are right now, I have no interest in seeing a musical about a CON man. | |

| They will not be in competition. Music Man opens in Fall 2020 and will be eligible for the 2021 Tonys. | |
