Ha! That's different because most of those pieces are longer and so dense that it's really impossible to get it all in one listening. Take for example...Mahler's 3rd.
Compared to some tunes I already know inside and out crafted into a suite. Unless the arrangements are remarkable (which I don't remember them being), I don't need to hear them live on NYE.
I do still listen to my BBC Concert Orchestra album of symphonic treatments of ALW songs, which includes works up to Aspects of Love. I've had this cassette (and now CD) since 1992 (although I think it was released in 1989) and listen to it often!
