I would love this cast to have been in the production running off-broadway now. But the one they are in is best to leave to die on its own in a regional theater. The director does not understand the show or how it's written, and it made for a stunted and confusing and not very fun production of wonderful show. I was so excited when this cast was announced, but this was not a production NYC needs to see ... and for as talented as they are, they were all in different shows, and sadly MJ more than anyone else was not playing Audrey in Little Shop, and I don't mean as a rip off of Green, I mean her take, or whatever, her performance under the direction there, was fully at odds with the show as written... though her Somewhere That's Green was beautiful, though also a great example of how mismatched the direction and the material are.
The best this production has to offer is what was performed on James Corden.
