GrumpyMorningBoy gets actually grumpy about two things from today's LES MIZ in cinemas trailer... (link below) --
1) I'm just not cool with how recent productions -- seemingly since the London re-orchestration -- use a new rhythm on "distant" in "Do You Hear The People Sing"? Back in the day, the rhythm was dotted like all the others. Now, just on "distant" it's straight. Cute once or twice, for fun, but I'm not cool with it being the way things are always gonna be from here on.
2) Why do London cast recordings insist on auto-tuning their sound for recordings? Somewhere along the way, TV and film musicals started casting actors who could barely sing, and TV shows like the UK's "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria" relied on auto-tuning to make their novice singers sound, well, more professional. But the fact that they're doing auto-tuning even for a thing like a live LES MIZ concert is clearly unneccessary... they're just doing it because people have gotten used to that sound.
