There is so much to love and remember about Maggie Smith: her triple-take on the balcony at seeing Elyot for the first time in PRIVATE LIVES and some of her one-liners, e.g. 'Sidney, was I hit by a bus?' in CALIFORNIA SUITE and (referring to Diana Rigg's character in EVIL UNDER THE SUN) 'She could kick her leg higher...and wider' are a couple of my favorites. Her splendid Jean Brodie is not to be forgotten. I'm sure she must be fond of her HEDDA GABLER under Ingmar Bergman's direction, which, unfortunately, I did not see. I could go on and on, as I'm sure many of you can. Thank you, Maggie Smith, for sharing with audiences your brilliant career!
