It's weird when they remove or rework my favorite song from a show, in this case The Night The Pugilist Learned How to Dance. But given the reception of the original I don't blame them for trying to improve it. I was just so-so when I saw it on Broadway, but grew to love it deeply as I listened to the recording. For me, Sting really figured out how to write songs that work in a musical, in a way that most pop composers have not.
