Because it sounds like the original had more going on at least, plot and character and motivation-wise. But I of course don't know.
And the bottom line too is that while I liked the score, all of it, I didn't really LOVE it, it never really gave me that "wow, i'm in great hands and can't wait to hear what's next" feeling I get with a great or even really good musical. |
