| She also acted for several seasons at the Guthrie in the 1980s. In 1980, she did a summer tour of Whose Life Is It, Anyway? that starred Richard Thomas. She wrote a bunch of articles for Backstage about, basically, the life of a working actress. She won the Clarence Derwent Award for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. That's the Actors Equity Award the authors mention. She won a Theatre World Award for Dear Janet Rosenberg, Dear Mr. Kooning, the Off-Broadway show she was in at the time of the Oscars. I knew some of this already, but I found about other things, including that Sheba production, just by doing a few searches. And it's just about exactly nine years that TCM showed Last Summer (early February 2011). Anyway, they probably just don't think theatre is important. |
