In reply to: JEREMY JORDAN to star as Seymour in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS beginning March 17 - Official_Press_Release 10:45 am EST 02/05/20

Jordan is a gifted triple threat, and I'm sure he'll be wonderful. But part of the original appeal was the idea of a character actor in the leading role. With this production we've got two of the most traditionally handsome B'way leads putting on the Seymour specs and becoming, well, if not Theron in "Monster," something rather different that the original idea. I'm not sure that the material doesn't change in some significant way. We always responded to Audrey "suddenly" spotting this painfully ordinary guy right under her nose. Their now classic duet was always about the unexpected recognition of someone's underlying appeal. With Groff and Jordan, is it really obfuscated?
