The Times just did a review of plays in Paris, including "Angels". It noted that all Comédie Francaise plays must run 3 hours max, in order to allow for turnover, and that "Angels" is being presented in only one sitting. The review mentioned that it was heavily abridged, but not how it was done, aside from cutting a lot of the American history digressions
It's really hard to imagine getting that play down to 3 hours and not losing significant amounts of plot alongside Kushner's political and cultural rhetoric. |
