I'm curious, when you say there are some in larger theaters, with the actors on weekly salaries, that consider themselves Off Broadway and market themselves accordingly, who are you thinking of? I guess the Wooster Group fits this description. The only other such company I can think of was the Jean Cocteau Repertory that performed at the Bouwerie Lane. They seemed to be around forever, with many of the same actors, until they weren't. I always wondered how they managed for so long. |
