I never saw Once in the theater (although I was very fond of the film), but I agree with your post as to Girl from the North Country. Went to first preview last night with high expectations and found this show embarrassingly bad, starting with the cliched writing and staging. Right out of the gate the narrator reminded me of the Blaine community theater and I feared we were in trouble. It was downhill after that. I'm baffled by the strong reviews from London and the Public.
Crowd seemed to like it |
