Saw this at The Public Theater and was touched by it. Mare Winningham very much moved me.
Generally speaking I am not a fan of ‘shoehorning’ previously written musical material into a new play but, this time, had I not known that the music was written for this musical, I wouldn’t have realized it.
I find that these smallish simple musicals either very much appeal to a person or, they don’t. Not a lot of middle ground. |
