Not a surprise about the dancing being great given Michael Bennett. Interesting to see that Liz Sheridan, who played Seinfeld's mother was Loudon's understudy.
The story about the quick closing includes the fact that the Shuberts produced the show and wanted to put that "can't miss" hit, I REMEMBER MAMA at the Majestic but They could calculate that it would never pay back its investment and unlike many Bway producers, weren't deluded about business picking up or the show pulling off a miracle win at the Tonys. |
