| My mistake, I was typing quickly without thinking. Of course, I do remember now that the medley wasn't introduced as a medley of Oscar-winning songs, but rather, I guess, as songs that were memorably featured in movies -- beginning with a very brief clip of "Old Time Rock and Roll" as featured in RISKY BUSINESS. So, in context, Eminem's appearance to perform "Lose Yourself" from 8 MILE was the outlier in the sense that that song WAS written for that movie (and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song). I also thought the medley was very badly edited from a musical context. |
