Yes, understood. But to me, it seems a little odd that they mixed pre-existing songs memorably featured in movies with music that was written specifically for films, including the Eminem song. I just re-watched the medley, and the songs/music in the latter category included "The Eye of the Tiger," "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp," and "My Heart Will Go On." But there was also a lot of pre-existing music, as others have noted. So the medley seemed very scattershot in that respect, and I think it would have been smarter and more appropriate if it had been limited only to now-classic songs/music written specifically for films. Certainy, there are more than enough examples of that to fill many medleys. |
