I believe there are restrictions on the play that it cannot be performed in New York or be made into a film until after the close of the London production. Of course, back in the 1950's, no one had any expectation that the play would run for 60+ years.

If I remember correctly, a film was made at some point with the expectation of being released when the production closed in London, which was assumed to be within the year. If that's true, that film has never been released.

It ran Off-Broadway during the 1960-61 season

It opened at the Maidman Playhouse on West 42nd Street on November 5, 1960. In February 1961, it moved to the Greenwich Mews on West 13th Street. It closed on April 23, 1961, after what Variety said was 192 performances.

So if there's a prohibition, it happened after that production. And while it may be that no film can be made while the London production is running, I've never heard that there's an unreleased film made decades ago. Maybe there is, but I've never heard that.
