You might want to check out what's going on t the National Theater. Not everything they do is golden but when they are good they are very good indeed. Same with the Royal Shakespeare Company. It's been so long since I've been to London that I don't know if they bring shows in from Stratford. But I would encourage you to look beyond the West End, especially when the shows are shows you could see in NY or on tour.

Barbican has been getting most Royal Shakespeare transfers.
