Ha, sure, happy to add her in, but to me in a year of amazing performances it was no contest for who gave the best performance in th most challenging role and show (unrelated to if the show was a popular favorite or not).
My list in order would be:
1. Toni Collette
2. Audra McDonald (tie, but with the edge going to Audra I think)
2. Marin Mazzie (tie)
3. Heather Headley
4. Rebecca Luker
In any given year, each of them would have been deserving, but I think Toni was extraordinary in a very difficult role that required her to do some heavy acting and singing and also dancing. Not to mention the thrill of the surprise of how incredible she was having only known her as a non-musical film actor. |
