Dramedy, I'm with you. ''Aida'' should've won Best Musical over that field. And it did win 4 of its 5 Tony nominations.
''Aida'' also should've gotten at least one more Tony nomination: Sherie Rene Scott for Featured Actress. Loved her!
At least audiences loved ''Aida.'' It ran longer than ''Contact,'' ''The Dead,'' ''Swing!'' and ''The Wild Party'' - combined!
(And speaking of ''Wild Parties,'' I must admit I wish Andrew Lippa's amazing musical version had moved to Broadway, too!) |
