That was me, and I didn’t attack you. I simply said that at the time that objectively, he was having a better career than she was. Until the Oscars, they were having similar careers: large but not leading parts in feature films and large but not leading parts on HBO series. You were right to call “Harriet” a turning point for her, but I would say it was only with the double Oscar nomination that she catapulted into a new stratosphere.

I agree wholeheartedly with you that she is a magnificent, one-of-a-kind actor. She delivers compelling characters that she disappears into. I’m loving her turn on “The Outsider”, and that’s where I also think she’s pulling ahead of Miranda and should be on her way to being a huge star.

Actually, I think it was me.

Erivo is having quite a run. No question about it. But, I still think Lin is having a better career. While she is an actor for hire, he is directing films (Tick Tick Boom), writing scores to animated films (Vivo), executive producing classy television ( Fosse/Verdon), and showing up in acting roles (Curb Your Enthusiasm) whenever he feels like it. Not to mention selling the filmed stage version of Hamilton for $75,000,000.
