This was unusual; I rarely attend opening nights, but I was able to get three seats for that Sunday evening's performance the day before (???!!!). Yeah, I was surprised, too!. I had only seen Caldwell on stage once before, in Dance of Death at the Vivian Beaumont in early 1974, co-starring Robert Shaw and Hector Elizondo.
Caldwell in Master Class was a master class in acting. Her supporting cast were also very fine, not only the incredible Audra. An evening I remember very fondly, and another reason why I love the theater.
Thank you Ms. Caldwell!
