| Walking down 45th Street and see this is next up at the Lyceum. I've never heard of it. | |

| Everything that's good in the musical (the original songs, some dialogue) comes straight from the film, which is fabulous. The stage version struck me as a baffling misfire on almost every level. I felt the same way about Once, though, so what do I know? Seth, ever-wrong |

| It had a well-publicized recent run at NY Theatre Workshop. You can check out the reviews. | |

| based on an utterly charming independent film from 2016 in which "A boy growing up in Dublin during the 1980s escapes his strained family life by starting a band to impress the mysterious girl he likes." | |

| Its kind of terrific. They have also done a lot of work on the book and score and set and choreography. They began working early this year while still at NYTW. New song too. Have great hopes! | |

| It's one of the most disappointing adaptations I've ever seen. There's no amount of work that can fix what I witnessed on stage at the NYTW, unless they start from scratch. I have no idea how this is transferring. Spend your $ on something else. | |

| Well unlike your view of Mack and Mabel below, I agree basically about how you feel about Sing Street. But here’s a show where the book was in trouble off Broadway. | |
