I feel like I rarely see Encores on TDF (not counting the two week Gala runs, I definitely saw Evita there).
With an already low entry point, I think it's $35 now though it was $30 for much of the time I have lived in NYC, there's nothing special about a TDF price. I think for an Encores show to go on TDF they would have to have a lot more expensive seats sitting empty, so that you are actually getting a deal on a great seat. If it's true that Mack and Mabel is the most requested Encores shows of all time, one has to think they are selling the non-$35 inventory to their satisfaction. Although as you note, there are still some full price seats available. I bought my ticket using a 20% discount code and going through all the performance maps and it wasn't that easy for me to find a price that I felt was a good value of the location. Point is, I don't think this show is driven to heavy discounts, which TDF is. |
