I took a different route with my points. I'm very particular about choosing seats (aisle only), so redeeming for tickets didn't work. But I recently redeemed some for a $50 gift card to Sardi's, which came within a week after I made the request and there was no charge on top of the points, not even postage. It wasn't an outrageous number of points, either--I don't remember offhand how many, but I felt like it was a good deal.

I'll be using it to cover most of my dinner before I see VIRGINIA WOOLF in April.

If you use points at the concierge level you can choose your seats.

I was unknowingly accumulating points for years and accidentally discovered I had thousands of points. So I went on a theater binge seeing a bunch of shows, many of which I wouldn't have paid to see. It was fun and I liked a few more than I expected. I only went to shows that offered seats for points only. Seats were mostly acceptable. So, since it's free to get a membership, always include the number on your ticket orders. It's like free money.

I've had a similar, positive experience. I've seen 4 shows through Audience Rewards - Come From Away, Prince of Broadway, A Bronx Tale, and SpongeBob. The seats were always really good (for example, Orch K-7 for CFA) and free, except for A Bronx Tale. There, I bought 2 tickets and was a little shy of points, so wound up spending $7.50 for the pair.
