I don't know ''Rockabye Hamlet'' at all. But here's the only musical ''Hamlet'' I know (written by the great Frank Loesser) ...
Link Bette Midler does (abridged) 'Hamlet' on her TV show

This IS ROCKABYE HAMLET, revised. Music producer David Carver has apparently been obsessed with this show since he was a teen. There are some new songs by Craig Fair, who also did the orchestrations, and they included some songs cut from the NY show. Laertes has a number in both called “Don’t Unmask Your Beauty To the Moon,” but it’s now a rap number. He has a boom box, which he is taking with his suitcase, to France.

Oh, wow, it was amazingly awful. I can supply more details, if needed. As I told my daughter after Roz and Gil the wild party animals bounded on stage, all glitter and heart-stopping volume, “you can’t unsee this.”

Laura, still boggled

The biggest issue is that they were taking it so damn seriously. My kid, who would be a dramaturg if the fates were kind, observed that it might have gone over better if they decked everyone in glam rock attire and let their tongues slip into their cheeks just a bit. Not to go all camp, just acknowledge that a rock HAMLET, especially played at ear-drum shattering levels, is a wee bit absurd.

But they were so full of self-importance... Just wow.

Laura, still feeling like Sally Durant Plummer “I’m so glad I came”. Cuz how could I miss this?
