Perhaps they can perform this in repertoire with the less appreciated horrific Shakespearean related flop, Marlowe.
Rockabye Hamlet was one of those flops that needed to be seen to be adequately appreciated. Descriptions cannot do it justice. It harkens to the: How did it come about that the producers were able to read the entire script much less decide to produce it! Note: I worked for said producer before RH. As one of the script readers it is possible that I would not have passed it along...and musical theater history might have been different |
