On Patrick Wilson's Twitter, someone asked him the other day: ''When will Patrick Wilson do a musical again?''
And Wilson replied: ''Soon. :) ''
Anyone have any idea if that's a musical for Broadway or the big screen? Wilson's got such a glorious voice.
What a shame that that 2017 ''Brigadoon'' that he did with Kelli O'Hara (at Encores!) didn't reappear on Broadway.
I've seen Wilson in his Tony-nominated performances from ''The Full Monty'' and ''Oklahoma!,'' but my favorite vocal highlight is from a show that only lasted a month in 1999: ''The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm.'' (Yes, that's how it was billed.) He belted a beautiful pop-rock version of ''But Not for Me'' that I'll never forget. I loved it so much that I even went back to see the show again. (I wish Wilson would make a CD and include it.) |
