I think COME FROM AWAY really has substantially more punch and power when you see it live, especially that incredible number near the end of the piece as they are on the plane leaving Gander. I had read the script (liked it a lot) and listened to the OBC recording (thought it was ok) and overall perceived the show as an intriguing and moving true story.... but nothing prepared me for that moment. It wasn't just that it was 'live', it was because it was staged so simply yet so powerfully.
The most 'meh' script that I enjoyed 'on its feet' was, much to my own surprise, HEAD OVER HEELS. I can't believe I wrote that.
