It's not a great play and yet, it affected me by the end. I didn't get to see Steven Pasquale (and he was a big draw for me), I saw the understudy whose name I am forgetting. I really enjoyed him quite a bit. I don't know that Jeremy Jordan was cast well in this production. I think someone who didn't look as intelligent as him could have pulled off some of the lines that sounded a bit false. I only knew Kerry Washington from a few Scandal episodes. She had such a shift in character as each new piece of information dropped that I became intrigued with her character. I haven't seen the hybrid-movie version yet, but am anxious to see Mr. Pasquale - and see how different it feels from my experience with the play.
