Since this situation is unprecedented, I think anything could happen. And, under the circumstances, I really don't think it would be fair to describe shows closing and then reopening as an "underhanded" practice. Presumably, a great many actors and other personnel whom that would affect would at least have the safety net of unemployment insurance for quite some time -- assuming, of course, that there will somehow be enough money for the government to pay unemployment over many weeks or months to many millions of people who are thrown out of work at the same time.
