The cut material is included in the script as an appendix and is considered optional for inclusion in any given production.

In the fall, I appeared in a production that included the optional material and it was the very first time I'd ever even heard that it existed. There's some very good stuff there, but I understand why it was cut originally and why productions don't generally include it.

It's a long play already and adding this material can make the play end north of the 3 hour mark.

Also, one whole scene that was cut includes an entire character that, otherwise, doesn't appear in the play, that of the Youngers' neighbor, Mrs. Johnson. I can understand budget-conscious productions not wanting to pay another actor or to incur the additional costs associated with that.

That scene though is kind of hilarious as Mrs. Johnson brings some comic relief to the play, as well as bringing home the reality of the violence that the Youngers are potentially facing if they go through with the move to Clybourne Park. It makes the scenes with Karl Lindner that much more menacing.
