I love much of his work, especially “Love! Valour! Compassion.” He was very important to Nathan Lane’s career and I love Nathan. Back in 2002, I auditioned for the NYC premiere of “Dead Man Walking” (the opera) at Lincoln Center. I was called back so I went to a record store to buy the recording of the San Francisco world premiere production. As I was looking for it, I saw Terrence McNally who wrote the libretto. I told him I was called back and was really hoping I’d be cast as I was a big fan of his work and it was always a dream of mine to be in one of his plays. He was very kind. And I was cast! Dream come true.
