I’m not sure what kind of awful behavior is exhibited in the play. Yes, the young dancer stirs up the libidos of the group and there is a midnight fling because of it. But the characters take care of each other. They argue but they also have silly fun as a ballet ensemble, skinny dipping and generally enjoying each other’s company. They have fear, of course but they do display the values of the title. Courage in the face of disease, love for their partners and friends and compassion for even the most damaged among them.
