''Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,'' NBC's long-running crime drama, often takes its stories ripped from the headlines. And last night's episode, ''Dance, Lies and Videotape,'' looks clearly inspired by the nude photo/texting scandal at N.Y. City Ballet. However, in ''SVU's'' version, ballerinas are secretly filmed having sex, and male company members share the files through texts (and one guy apparently submits them to a porn site). Among this episode's guest stars: ''Hairspray'' director John Waters as a pornographer; Ari'el Stachel, a Tony winner from ''The Band's Visit,'' as an undercover cop, and Patrick Page, a Tony nominee from ''Hadestown,'' as an artistic director who pimps out the young women to wealthy donors.
By the way, ''SVU's'' exec producer is Warren Leight, who wrote the Tony-winning ''Sideman.'' Wish he'd come back to Broadway with a new play!
