Who deserved a Tony nomination? It's so subjective. And so many factors enter into it, including popularity and name recognition.

Frankly, I thought Ann Harada was a riot in ''Avenue Q,'' so if I were a Tony nominator, she definitely would've had my vote.

Noah Racey gave a tour de force in ''Never Gonna Dance,'' but it's hard to get rewarded for a short-lived show that closed in February.

The Tonys remembered Ziemba from that show, but nominators also knew her better because she had won a Tony for ''Contact.''

As a rule of thumb, the better-known you are, the better your chances are of landing a nomination, especially in a crowded field.
