With the volume set at a level such that everyone else's voice was fairly reasonable, Richard Kind's voice was impossible for me to hear. I didn't have a problem with The Heidi Chronicles.
I had a similar problem with a recent viewing of The Siblings Play. Uneven volume seemed really bothersome coming from the recording (and when people talked over each other, or yelled, it was grating) when, in the theater, it seems much easier to absorb. I realize these recordings are made with restrictions, but this plus the lack of captioning (again, understandable), make me cautious, especially when paying. |
