You're right. That revival didn't run even a year and a half. It opened Nov. 10, 1993 and closed May 29, 1994.

For the record, Damian had been a soap star for 12 years on ''The Young and the Restless'' and was a recording artist with a number of top 40 hits.

I imagine he had a following, but in fairness to him, maybe it was too soon for a ''Joseph'' revival. The original only closed 10 years earlier.

Nevertheless, the ''Joseph'' revival cast album was nominated for a Grammy. And Damian included ''Close Every Door'' on his ''Rock On'' CD (2009).

As for Osmond, maybe, for whatever reasons, he felt the timing wasn't right for a Broadway return. He did do ''Joseph'' in Toronto (starting in July 1992) and Chicago (for 16 months in 1993-94). Wikipedia notes: ''During his performances for the musical, he suffered from social anxiety disorder, which caused him to feel light-headed and extremely nervous during his performances.'' Still, he's reportedly done ''Joseph'' over 2,000 times, and Andrew Lloyd Webber chose him to star in the filmed 1999 version. And Osmond did return to Broadway in 2006 to play Gaston in ''Beauty and the Beast'' and even played him again when the show closed in July 2007. And the Donny and Marie Christmas show played Broadway in 2011.
