I've always felt the same, and that also applies to the megamix that was in place at the end of the '80s production, although I don't believe they called it that back then.
I love JOSEPH.... and I've thought that, if I ever directed a production of it, I would probably want to do it as half of a Lloyd Webber evening, with the first half consisting of JOSEPH -- without reprises! -- and the second half a mini-concert of ALW songs from other shows. I think that would be a much better solution that trying to lengthen JOSEPH.... artificially with reprises and "megamixes." |
