Bette Midler is 75 (incredible as that may be) but doesn't look anywhere near that old, which is why I think she would be fine age-wise in a movie of ALLERGIST'S WIFE if it were made now or soon. I don't think the story would work if the character looked like an old lady. Plus, of course, her mother is a character in the play, and she's not supposed to be 110 :-)
