| I really must dissent from this. It's no stain on a director's record to have a flop, except in the crassest showbiz sense, and Warchus has had enough hits to jump past that. And Follies is no gift - it's a show with a great score and significant book and story problems, plus a legendary original production (which I saw) that you will always be unfavorably compared to. I realize many on this board, espcially my esteemed friend Alan, will disagree, but that's my view at any rate. |
