| If/when I have more $, I do have to donate even a tiny amount to the Met. From the past 5 days alone, I could not imagine more passionate, detailed acting in productions of AIDA or MACBETH (Anna Netrebko ate up the stage in very different ways in both, & Adrian Noble's staging of MACBETH was SO eloquent & imaginative) OR in LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST (that's one of the very few Puccini I had never seen or heard - gorgeous, gorgeous score, & Deborah Voight broke my heart). This is such a gift to us...they are offering yet another free week next week. Streaming through 6:30 tonight is ANOTHER vivid production, FALSTAFF!! |
