| I think these and other awards nominate and vote based on the hands they are dealt. I don't think that should change any more than it would in a season in which there were no worthy candidates (a la the Pulitzer Prize). The Tonys are a somewhat different story since they are primarily a marketing tool and the calculus on when and what is different. (That said, I think we will see Tony Awards for 19-20 in due course, based on the truncated season. And THAT said, I think the only way that may change if if CBS drives some other change. But I think they will be interested in a show, and I also think that there is more than enough b-roll to cobble together a nice program.) [As with everything, just a guess.] |
