Certainly it was the case from the very first Saturday afternoon broadcast following what turned out to be his final performance, the Verdi Requiem broadcast of the week prior; the news broke the night of that Requiem I believe.(And it became his requiem!)
But starting with the second week last month of the Met's nightly streaming, after the sudden clossure of the House, all that Wagner seemed to demand that Levine be featured conducting many of the selected operas. However, Domingo appears to remain verboten, despite his presence on so many HD telecasts and regular broadcasts.
