My Three Show Saturday
Posted by: lowwriter 12:07 pm EDT 04/12/20

Yesterday afternoon I watched A Fuddy Meers reading thanks to Stars in the House. I had never seen that play and it was very entertaining as a reading. What a treat to see the original cast and have the playwright read the stage directions. The puppet was a precursor for Hand to God.

Then in the evening I watched Bandstand. I loved this show and Broadway and the filming captures the performances and dancing beautifully. I had seen the film in a theater and it works well on a smaller screen. I do regret that Playbill couldn’t allow for streaming on a TV. Corey Cott tweeted along at 8 pm and he had some insightful comments. This show deserves regional productions.

I then took a break and stayed up late to watch Jesus Christ Superstar The Live Arena Tour. This was excellent, even better than the recent NBC Live special. The singing was impressive all around and Tim Minchin was a surprise for me. He replaced Seal who dropped out.

Now I need to catch up on NTLive Jane Eyre, the Saturday Night Seder and a Met Opera. And the NY Philharmonic Carousel on Amazon Prime.
