Another theater connection to the original ''Penny Dreadful'' (2014-16): It starred Reeve Carney from ''Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.''

After playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man for more than 900 performances, he left it to play Dorian Gray on this Showtime series.
