Click tracks cannot be heard by the audience. So prerecorded material might have a click track under it, to help the musical director and/or percussionist keep in time with the recording, there would be no point in putting vocals or instruments on a click track. Rather you want those tracks to go out into the house.
This might be a question of semantics lol. In shop talk, it's perfectly normal to hear about vocals and instrumentals being "ON a click track" - the meaning is that there is a click involved not heard by the audience. ;-) |
