Have to agree with you on this one - I really liked DRS, too. That being said, I actually had not seen the movie before I went and saw the musical, so the entire story "unwinding" for me for the first time was a nice, enjoyable evening in the theater. I think my biggest "beef" with the show is that I would have liked to have seen more done with Joanna Gleason. I kept thinking "I'm finally seeing Joanna Gleason on stage - and this is all she's doing?"

I saw the show twice on visits to NY and then caught it again on tour, which held true in a lot of ways to the NYC production and was just as enjoyable. Interestingly enough, I felt Hollis Resnick was a bit more prominent with the Muriel character than Gleason.
