Ha geez, my bad! (you did say 2006 but you clearly must mean 2016)
And I agree I would have picked Walker over Burstein too. And over Lin, Frankly. Lin is a charming and energetic performer who makes you love watching him but acting and singing have never been his *strongest* suits. He's wonderful but, hey, choices have to be made. I think I'd have given it to Lin over Danny that year though.
I also would have given it to Walker over Brightman. A very talented performer giving a winning performance he worked hard for, but in all respects but the role and his stamp on it were too close to the movie for me, and not as layered and challenging in the way that American Psycho or Hamilton... or Fiddler are. So I guess Brightman might have been my first cut?
But I'm glad I'm not crazy and that it was not blocked from ALL nominations. |
