| Lincoln Center Library had an exhbition about casting and headshots / resumes over the years a few years ago. One of the exhibits had lists of actors who were being considered for Herbie, and it was quite a long list. In there somewhere was Jack Klugman. So there was a great deal of whittling down before he was cast. It wasn't like he was one of the first people to be considered. It was a rather fascinating thing to see the I think handwritten long list filling perhaps one or 2 sheets of paper containing both actors still known today and some not. |
